I find this the most exciting time of year… I get time to review and give thanks for the year that was and to plan and create a new ‘painting’ for the year ahead.
I believe that at the start of every year, each and every one of us, receives the gift of A Blank Canvas. We get the opportunity to Create A New Vision for the year ahead, to reset, to dream, to plan, to design… the next 12 months of our life.
As an artist, I look at the New Year like a Blank Canvas and try and ask myself, “So, what masterpiece are you going to create for yourself this year?” A Picasso? A Monet? New Relationships? Challenging Business Goals? Aspirational Career Goals? Spiritual Maturity? Personal Development? Fun and Adventures?
Oh… there is so much we can do with 12 months and 365 days, if we take the time to STOP – REVIEW – PLAN and GAIN CLARITY.
My hope is that you will take some time to stop and reflect on what was and what can be for you: your business, your career, your personal life, your health, your finances, your relationships/friendships, your family and your spiritual life.
My challenge to you is to DREAM BIG and set goals bigger than yourself, goals that will really stretch you and take you out of your comfort zone, goals that will benefit others and goals that look impossible where you sit right now. I have found that when I set goals bigger than myself, I see my character develop, my faith grow, my limits pushed, and multiple opportunities chase me down. I see doors open up that I could never have dreamed possible and my desire is that you will experience this in your life too as you challenge yourself.
I also believe that life isn’t about the destination or success we will achieve but it definitely is about the journey we are on, the person we are becoming and the influence we are having on the people around us as our journey progresses.
I hope you enjoy the last day of 2018. Be grateful and thankful for all that 2018 has brought you and taught you… and be excited by what 2019 has in store for you… Remember: You have the choice to shape and design your 2019.
I will leave you with this thought from Jim Rohn.
